What can we learn from top 10 percent students in biomechanics?

| Comment | : | Dear Editor and Reviewers, Thank you for all reviewers' feedback and comments. All the suggestions are included in the paper and complied. I appreciate reviewer 1's positive and constructive feedback. The table has been split into two separate tables, one for top final grade and one for top normalized gain. In terms of typographical error, it is due to the document conversion from word to pdf file. This part will be corrected in the updated document. Regarding the content suggestion from reviewer 2, another recent paper is included in the introduction, so that it is not solely dependent on the 2012 paper. After a careful consideration based on both reviewers' comments, I continue to believe this is an important research line to pursue. Teaching in Biomechanics is an important topic for this venue and there are many papers published regarding this topic in a variety of journals. For the ISBS annual conference, teaching biomechanics has been an important topic since participants are also faculty members who teach in biomechanics at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels. In fact, just recently there were workshop and an applied science panel for teaching and learning at the 2010 and 2013 ISBS conference, respectively. Thus, it is my hope that I can contribute to the collective understanding for effective biomechanics instruction for the next generation of biomechanists.
